Albert Kahn - Paris

Hi there! Even if I'm back in Finland, I haven't had time to show you a lot of pictures from my French trips. When we went there in June for our first wedding of the Summer, we were staying a little bit in the area of Boulogne Billancourt. Usually we stay in Bastille, and I have to say that Boulogne Billancourt was great. Especially because it's less center, so you can get a better hotel and quiet environment. You definitely have to take a longer metro, but what is 20min in your day?! Anyway, after the wedding, we decided to check around the area (not the best for shopping) but we found great museums, such as the Museum Albert Kahn.  Banker, humanist, patron, Albert Kahn (1860-1940) dreamed of dialogue between people and harmony between civilizations. His dream takes shape over 4 hectares, in his former Boulogne-Billancourt property. Japanese, English and French gardens, flowers and fruit trees form a poetic haven around the museum. Every year there is an exhibition drawing on his archives from around the world, a collection of 72, 000 color photographs taken over the world between 1909 and 1931 (http://bit.ly/od4h4J). When we visited the museum, it was Japanese pictures exhibition and it was wonderful. Albert Kahn loved particularly this country, which is why he also decided to construct the Japanese garden.
Please if you are around, go and check this museum and those garden, it's absolutely WONDERFUL. Next time I'll go to Paris I will go there again without any doubt. It is peaceful, and the gardens are so well done that you would want to stay over there the whole day! Let me know what you think if you stop by!

Fr: Bonjour, bonjour. Même si je suis de retour en Finlande, je n'ai pas encore eu le temps de vous montrer toutes les photos que j'ai prises lors de mes voyages en France. Quand nous avons été à Paris au mois de Juin pour notre premier mariage de l'été, nous sommes restés à Boulogne-Billancourt quelques jours après être resté un peu à Bastille. Après le mariage, nous nous sommes baladés dans les environs et nous sommes tombés sur le Musée Albert-Kahn et ses jardins. (Ps, maintenant nous avons envie de revenir et de prendre un hôtel à Boulogne-Billancourt plutôt qu'en plein centre parce que premièrement vous pouvez avoir un bien meilleur hôtel pour moins cher, et deuxièmement, l'environnement est beaucoup plus calme). 
Albert Kahn était un banquier et mécène francais. Grâce a son mécénat, il a constitué l'un des plus importants fonds photographiques couleur du début du XXe siècle intitulé Les Archives de la Planète et conservé dans ce musée (Wiki). Associés à ce musée, il faut aussi aller visiter les jardins Albert Kahn qui s'étendent sur 4 hectares derrière le musée. Il s'agit finalement d'un jardin fait de plusieurs jardins réconciliant les styles de chaque pays (dans une utopie de paix à laquelle aspirait Albert Kahn). 
Quand nous avons visité ce musée, l'exposition Japonaise était en place et c'était magnifique. Albert Kahn aimait particulièrement ce pays, ce qui est aussi la raison pour laquelle il a fait construire un jardin Japonais. Dans tous les cas, je vous recommande chaudement la visite de ce musée et de ses jardins si vous passez dans les environs. Vous ne le regretterez pas! Dites moi ce que vous en pensez! Bisouuus +
